MEET WEASLEY

I can't believe I haven't written a blog post about Weasley yet!
One of my very first blog posts on this blog was about the month of April and I mentioned I was getting a new rabbit and that I hadn't got him yet because he was poorly. Towards the end of May I got him! He is a dwarf lop, very lovable but also very playful. Through all the suggestions of my friends I decided to name him Weasley because of his ginger fur!

He definitely has his own little - or should I say BIG - personality! I was really worried because we had to wait for him for so long, we got him at 18 weeks old, that he wouldn't think of me as his mummy like Trouble my other bunny does. Needless to say he actually thinks of me as more of a mummy than Trouble ever has (not that I love Trouble any less for doing so). If I leave a room Weasley will follow me, if I go upstairs he'll run up after me, if I go downstairs he'll slowly make his way down, if I leave and he doesn't notice he'll panic and dart from room to room and when he finds me he'll jump on me so that I stroke him to calm him down! He enjoys being turned upside down and having his tummy scratched - he's just like a puppy!

Here are a few photos of him - I LOVE HIM.

GIFT IDEAS: JAR PRESENT.

Before I start this blog post I would just like to write a small disclaimer!
I am not in any way claiming that I came up with this idea, I would definitely link the original creator of this gift if I knew who it was - I just saw a picture online of something similar and thought it was an amazing idea!

And with that out the way...let's begin!

I don't know about you but I sometimes really struggle with gift ideas for people. It can be really difficult - you're invited to someone's birthday party, you're not too close with them so you don't want to spend a lot of money what do you do...or you just don't have very much money and you really want to give someone a gift that looks special and that is very thoughtful - this is the perfect idea!

I did this for my mum for her birthday. I had very little money to spend on her, in fact I saved up a lot. I could have made the presents inside a LOT more inexpensive, but that's the sacrifice I make for my mummy.

As I said in the disclaimer I saw a picture of one these 'jar presents' online and the author of that photo had put in some nail varnish, a nail file, cotton balls, toe separators and had made it into a 'mani-pedi jar gift'. I really loved that idea but my mum wouldn't appreciate it so much as she's not the biggest mani-pedi fan in the world. HOWEVER, she does do a lot of cooking - so I figured a JAR gift would be amazing for her! The wrapping is a present too, it's awesome. Of course you could use a small gift bag, a pretty box etc. not just a jar but in this instance I used a jar!

I got my jar from a local craft shop and they're really inexpensive and very good quality. When you buy your jar make sure you can easily fit your hand into it. This will mean that the person can reach in to get the presents and it means that it should be big enough to fit a few small little gifts inside!

In my mums present's case I included the following:
  • An O.P.I Nail Polish in 'Japanese Rose Garden'
  • Berts Bees Lip Balm
  • Slice of Cake
  • Lavender and Lime Candle
  • Cube Photo Frame (Wrapped up) Not in Jar
  • Clarins Eyeshadow Pallet Not in Jar
I also use Jelly Belly Beans as stuffing for the jar too!

As you can see this jar has no theme whatsoever unless you count 'pretty-things-small-enough-to-fit-in-the-jar' a theme!

Go and get creative friends!

GUESS WHO'S GOING TO UNIVERSITY?

The answer to that question is...ME.
But I guess you had already figured that out, huh?

I actually wasn't expecting to even hear back from a university about me going there, let alone my FIRST CHOICE! At college I went through a lot of problems in my personal life and ended up with 2 E's and a D...not qualifying me for the course AT ALL.

I had got myself a space on an access course at college which would allow me to go to university after I had completed that.

Chichester emailed me this previous Monday (Monday 19th August) asking me to confirm on Thursday what grade I got in my GCSE Maths as that's part of my conditional offer. I replied yesterday that I had received a 'C' which was my highest grade I could have gone on the foundation paper, but although receiving this grade I'm almost certain I won't be able to do the course because of my grades at A-Level.

The head of admissions then replied to me saying "I've spoken to the department manager and the team about your application and they've all agreed that we still want to offer you a place on the course if you wish to accept it. Could you please let me know?". At this point I was screaming for my dad and running downstairs, he met me in the hallway just after collapsing because he thought something awful had happened to me (I laughed a little at this when he told me) and screamed at him "I'M GOING TO UNIVERSITY" and started laughing and crying and I was just a complete hysterical, happy, mess.

Although I'm saying I am going to university I should actually be saying I'm hopefully going to university. You see the thing is, is as I didn't think I'd get in - in fact I was certain I wouldn't get the grades to get in - I didn't apply for accommodation, I didn't apply for any financial aid - nothing! I've now sent off for my student loans, and should hear back from them in 4 weeks, hopefully saying they'll loan me my tuition money. I've also contacted the accommodation people at the university in the hope that I can either apply really late for accommodation OR they can help me find student accommodation elsewhere.

ANYWAY I'm really excited about this opportunity so I wanted to share it all with you! Thank you all for reading, blog again later. xxx

I.D. PROBLEMS

Probably one of the most exciting things for a lot of people when they turn eighteen is being able to legally buy a lot of stuff - e.g. alcohol, cigarettes and tattoos.

One of the most annoying things is waiting to do all these things until you turn eighteen and when you go to buy them they don't ask you for any I.D!
*I will never ever want to smoke, nor will I ever buy cigarettes it was just an example

This has happened to me a few times during the past week of me being eighteen.

1) On my first day of being eighteen I bought a couple of cocktails at my birthday meal and my I.D. only got checked because I forced him to check it! (It's a matter of principle).
2) On my second day of being eighteen I went to Asda to buy a large bottle of Mango Sourz. I have previously been I.D.ed in Asda when I was with an obvious adult when they were buying themselves alcoholic ginger beer, then they got refused it because I was under eighteen! They didn't I.D. me for my Mango Sourz.
3) I went out 'clubbing' for the first time on my fourth day of being eighteen. My I.D. did get checked - but only for literally a second! I doubt he even looked at it.
4) I went and did something potentially stupid (but I do love it) on my fourth day before we went out clubbing too. This something required you to be eighteen, but since I told them it was my birthday on Tuesday they didn't check my I.D. then either!

It appears as soon as you turn eighteen you gain 10 years to make you look almost thirty.

Anyway! Here's some pictures of me and my friend Poppy having drinks at The Hobbit.

MY EIGHTEENTH! Birthday Haul!

As you may have already guessed from my last post it was coming up to my birthday! On the 13th of August I turned 18! Finally! I was definitely the baby of all my friends but I've caught up now!

As I told you before my plans for my actual birthday day was to go to the salon in the morning for some pampering, then going out for a meal in the evening and then out drinking with one of my friends, Chelsea.
I did spend the morning at the salon and it was LOVELY. I have to say that the eyebrow threading and leg waxing was much more painful than last time, but I can actually now say that my legs are much much smoother than last time and my eyebrows are much more natural looking and are such a nice shape, so they were both definitely worth the pain!
Sorry to all the people who don't like feet! This is my beautiful pedicure. This is an O.P.I nail varnish and I wish I had asked what it was called because I love it!
In the evening of my birthday I went out for a meal with my family. Chelsea had some important last minute plans so had to cancel on me, but it was still lovely to have my family all together for once - the last time we were all together was for my Granddads funeral, pretty much a year ago! The only person who was missing was my mummy, but I'm seeing her in September.

For my birthday we went to Chiquito's, which is a Mexican restaurant. It has very lovely food - not to mention a very large selection of alcoholic beverages - but there were only two waiters on hand so it was very slow. Nevertheless I had a very lovely time and I'm so pleased with the evening.

I'm claiming this to be my first legal alcoholic drink, although my first was actually a 'Strawberry Daiquiri' and this is a 'Woo Woo' but I forgot to take a picture of my Daiquiri ;)
I got some very lovely presents for my Eighteenth, I'll include pictures below!

Made a display for my lovely readers of all my birthday presents!
Okay so let's start!
My mum lives over 3 hours away so unfortunately I didn't get to see her on my birthday, she did however get my presents posted down to me! She got me some balloons, some beautiful flowers, some biscuits in the shape of '18' (which were very yummy!) and a lovely little decorative dish!

My best friend Amy lives a long way away as well, but I'm seeing her soon! Eee! Anyway she posted my presents down for my birthday. As I was out in the morning I was worried about missing the post which I did! They posted it at 10:33, so I missed it :( I was so upset! Previously the post lady had delivered the parcels from my mum which had the writing "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL THE 13TH" and we had had a big discussion about how it was my birthday on the 13th and since then she was checking I hadn't opened my presents - she was lovely. Since I had missed it I couldn't go pick it up for 24 hours so I was pretty bummed. Then I heard a knock on the door. She had brought the packet with her when she was delivering the letters. She told me she had to attempt to deliver the parcels before 1PM but as she knew it was my birthday and it wasn't a very big package she decided to bring it with her just in case. I told you she was lovely!
Me and Amy had recently been expressing our love for fineliners, but I've only ever been able to afford the cheapest ones - these ones are the nicest ones I've ever tried! I also told her how much I really wanted a large badge for my eighteenth as I've never had one so she got me one (and then my brother got me one too -.-). She also got me my favourite card of the year, it's so pretty! And being the lovely lady she is she also bought me some more Barry M nail varnishes to go into my collection and the Guava one (blue one) she got me is now my favourite colour ever! Amy also got me two face masks! But they were so lovely I had used them before I took this photograph!

I'm going to put my sisters and eldest brothers presents to me in one picture. When I was little I LOVED these dollies from Marks and Spencer. I liked them because of how their hair felt - I used to pull it out of their heads and leave it lying around the house, it drove my parents crazy! So for my eighteenth they both had the idea of buy me a new one! My brother also got me a large badge!

My other brother bought me a few little presents which is more than I expected so that was lovely. I'm not sure if he thought about it or whether he just winged it but he got me some nail art pens which I have been desperate to try! He also got me a lovely paperchase pen, and I love paperchase!

My dad bought me quite a few little things for my birthday. My main present was him paying for me to go get pampered at the spa, but he also bought me a lovely pair of shoes. They are so surprisingly comfortable and I can walk in them! They're beautiful and are my most expensive pair of shoes.

My college friend Sarah got me a lovely bath set for my birthday, and as funny as it sounds I can't wait to use it all up so I can use the beautiful tray it comes in! I love the look of it and it will probably hold all of my jewellery!

My school friend, Poppy, got me a beautiful present from ESSENTIAL which is a lovely jewellery shop! She got me a gift box of a gorgeous bracelet and a lovely ring! I'm a bit funny about rings but I really like this one and I can see me wearing it more than any of my other rings.

And what's a birthday without buying yourself a birthday present?

UPDATED 18TH PLANS

Turns out they don't do those fish pedicures any more :( therefore I'm just having a normal pedicure.
I'm a bit nervous about it though - I don't really like people touching my feet,
gah!

YOU'VE DYED YOUR HAIR?

Yep, I have! These pictures are from the first time I did it, I've put more blonde on top now too so it's a little blonder but it's still in the 'ombré' style you see here. I hope you agree with me in thinking it's nice, I love it!

MY EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY PLANS!!!

Hi guys!
So as you probably guessed from the title of this post, my eighteenth birthday is coming up! 12 days from today I will be legally an adult (not that I'll act like one!). Yep so on August 13th I will be trying my best to enjoy myself having fun and getting a bit messy in the evening.

During the day I'm spending it by myself at a local salon getting a few pampering treats done. I reckon quite a few of you reading this would be wondering why I'm going by myself, but I actually prefer being by myself and relaxing, not having to worry about someone who I know seeing me in such a vulnerable state (if that's what you'd call it.

The treatments I'm having done are:
1. Eyebrow threading
2. Full leg wax
3. Back, neck and shoulder massage
4. Fish pedicure
5. Toes file and polish

Although the eyebrow threading and leg waxing aren't really considered relaxing I actually enjoyed it, the waxing more so than the threading. I was pleasantly surprised last time I went to get this done (my first time) when I found it didn't actually hurt that much at all, in fact as long as I pulled my eyebrow really tight it didn't hurt me at all! The leg waxing was surprisingly pleasant when I went last. They took me down to a sort of 'basement' I guess it was, but it's been remastered and looks so lovely. It was so clean, in fact they told me I had to watch my step because they had just cleaned the floors. It was a dimmed out room with lovely aromatherapy oils burning to give the room a really relaxing atmosphere, if it hadn't been for sudden bit of fabric and wax being ripped off my legs I would have totally been able to sleep.

I've never had a back, neck and shoulder massage (or any massage for that matter) done professionally and this is the one thing I'm MOST excited about! I'll let you know how it goes, I've booked in for the 25 minute massage rather than a 40 minute one, but I bet I will wish I had the 40 minutes instead.

At the salon I go to they do an offered where if you have the fish pedicure you also get a file and polish afterwards for a cheaper price than they normally do, so that's quite exciting. I've always wanted to get a fish pedicure so hopefully it'll live up to my expectation, but I'll update you all after I've been to the salon!

IN THE EVENING of my birthday I'll be going out for a meal with my family to a Mexican restaurant. One of my closest friends Chelsea is also coming too. I'm not the biggest fan of Mexican food but I can always find something to eat, and they have the biggest and nicest sounding cocktail list I've ever seen, so that influenced my choice of restaurant! ;)

After the evening meal me and Chelsea will be going into town for drinks and clubbing with a few of her friends. Then on the 15th (2 days later) me, Chelsea and a group of my other friends will be going clubbing again after spending the day at the beach or if it's raining having a film day round at mine. I'm so excited for my eighteenth and I hope it goes really well! :D
